Mayan Blade Spinner

The wood will vary on these Mayan spinners.  They are 6 7/8 long with a spinning rod slightly shorter. 
 A Mayan blade is a hand spinning tool that's easier to learn to use than a drop spindle but just as portable. This spinning device was  used by the Mayans. It can be used to ply two yarns together as well as to spin. It is a slow process making yarn but it is very portable and you can spin while sitting in the passengers seat in a car very easily. The Mayan blade is very portable and, unlike a drop spindle, can be used in a relatively small space, such as when sitting on a train or as I meantioned in a car, you can spin just about anywhere.
